Hilary Duff in talks with RCA?
April 18, 2009 by Arieanna
There is a rumor that Hilary Duff may be in talks with RCA records, vs staying independent as a musician as she’s previously stated in interviews.
Hilary admitted recently that she’s starting to work with a few producers, one of whom may be J.Y.Park. If Hilary is indeed in talks with RCA, who manage artists such as Kelly Clarkson and Christina Aguilera, we’ll probably know soon. For now, this is just a rumor.
The rumor follows the announcement earlier this week of Hilary Duff’s upcoming new single, “Any Other Day”, which will be a part of the soundtrack for her movie What Goes Up. So far there is only a possibility that the single will be released on its own.
Also, check out a bunch of new photos of Hilary Duff from the Provinces of Night set - these ones include Hilary looking VERY PREGNANT!!

Hilary Duff Talks Teen Pressures & Music
April 14, 2009 by Arieanna
I wasn’t able to find the video clip for this, but according to JustJared, Hilary Duff was on E!’s Daily 10 and was quoted talking about how teen stars deal with the pressure of Hollywood now as well as about getting back to her music.
On whether or not teens have it harder now than when Hilary was younger, she says:
“Hmmm… no, because I have to deal with it everyday too. I mean I think that they’re talented, you know, and it probably is a little harder for them now, you know, because there is so much paparazzi and it wasn’t like that so much a few years ago.”
I agree with Hilary’s assessment. The paparazzi have always been there, and the pressures are the same as they were, but perhaps the paparazzi are just more intense now. I know Hilary has expressed her frustration with the paparazzi before. Hilary also talks about whether we can expect a new album, saying she doesn’t have a date for one yet:
“I’m starting to work with a few producers, and writing and just figuring out a new… what new sound or what’s inspiring me… I don’t have deadlines. Or I don’t have anyone telling me what to do anymore.”
I’m glad Hilary is back to work on music, though I know her acting plate is also quite full!

Depeche Mode Talk About Hilary
December 19, 2008 by Arieanna
In Hilary Duff’s latest single, ‘Reach Out’, from her ‘Best Of‘ Album, she samples from Depeche Mode’s ‘Personal Jesus’. Depeche Mode is currently coming up with a new album, and in an interview recently talked about Hilary’s use of their track. Frontman Dave Gahan had this to say:
“I don’t know what I think about it…. It’s a little weird,” laughed Gahan. “I think it was something that Martin didn’t really have any choice over, they kind of did it anyway. But, you know, it is what it is. Look, my daughter loves it. You know what she said to me? ‘But it’s not the same, Dad.’ “
Hilary Duff’s ‘Best Of’ album was off of iTunes for a while, I’m not exactly sure why, but it’s back up!! So, you can now buy the full album here.
In addition, you can buy each of the songs from ‘Best Of’ on their own now! So, if you just want to buy ‘Reach Out‘ or ‘Holiday‘, or the remixes, they are just $0.99 each! You can buy the ‘Reach Out’ music video for $1.49 too, so that’s great if you want to watch it in a good quality! Read more
“Reach Out” Acoustic Version
The folks over at guitartutee have put together an acoustic version of Hilary Duff’s “Reach Out” single.
It’s a pretty simple acoustic version of the song. Right now it’s the only acoustic version of the single that I could find on the web. I’m really hoping some other people try their hand at it too.
Alternate “Reach Out” Music Video
November 25, 2008 by Arieanna
A third version of Hilary Duff’s “Reach Out” music video (original version | tv censored version) has been found! This video, edited by Barney Miller, features more of the choking scenes with also a bunch more artistic shots that didn’t make it into the final cut for the music video. I like it!
Also, according to E-Talk (via) Hilary Duff will be spending Thanksgiving with her mom (Mike Comrie has a game the next day) somewhere “stress-free”.
“Holiday” Lyrics
November 10, 2008 by Arieanna
Love Hilary Duff’s new song, “Holiday“, as much as I do?! Well, here are the lyrics. According to Wikipedia, “Holiday” was written by Hilary Duff with help from her sister Haylie and by Ryan Tedder. Tedder produced the track. Part of the track makes reference to Hilary’s past single, “Beat of my Heart“.
“Holiday” by Hilary Duff (”Best Of” Album) Lyrics
I remember summers, you and me lasting forever
Holidays come and we’d never, never ever be apart
I remember spending, all of my time, every minute
The two of us we had our own rhythm, in tune with the beat of my heart
Now in the summer (I miss you)
And in the winter (I miss you)
It don’t matter (what I do)
Since you went away, since you went away
Now in the summer (I miss you)
And in the winter (I miss you)
It don’t matter what I do
It don’t matter what I say
You left it
[CHORUS]
You took a holiday from us
Took a trip and left your love
If your heart wasn’t down forever
You should have told me where it was
You took a holiday from me
I guess you needed to be free
Would have loved you with no measure
And now you got me asking
Where (where did you go huh?, where did you go huh?)
Where (where did you go huh?, where did you go huh?) did you go?
(where did you go huh?) Where did my heart go?
You took a holiday
Where (where did you go huh?, where did you go huh?)
Where (where did you go huh?, where did you go huh?) did you go?
Why did you leave?
This ain’t no holiday for me
Walkin’, watching you leave there’s no talking
Back in my arms it’s so shocking, guess forever was just a dream
I thing we could have made it, but our history now is fading
My image of the future is changing and baby damn that thing called destiny, got the best of me
Now in the summer (I miss you)
And in the winter (I miss you)
It don’t matter what I do
It don’t matter what I say
You left it
[CHORUS REPEATS]
If I could take a step back, make it turn out different
I would hide those bags, and I’d tear that ticket
Never thought you and me ‘d be done in a minute
Now I’m making new plans and you’re just not in it
[REPEAT SECTION]
(Where did you go?)
You took a holiday from us
Took a trip and left your love
If your heart went down forever
Should’ve told me where it was
You took a holiday from me
I guess you needed to be free
Would have loved you with no measure
And now you got me asking
Where did you go? (Where?) Where did you go? (Where?)
Where did you go? (Where?) Where did you go? (Where?)
Where did you go? (Where?) Where did my heart go?
You take a holiday
Where did you go? (Where?) Where did you go? (Where?)
Where did you go? (Where?) Where did you go? (Where?)
Where did you go? (Where?) Why do you leave?
This ain’t a holiday for me
