Hilary Duff in “Love Connection” Quiz

May 21, 2009 by Arieanna

People.com put together a Love Connection game that features the first question about Hilary Duff. The little quiz asks, “Hilary Duff’s lover in her ‘With Love’ music video is…” and gives the option of Kellan Lutz (Twilight) or Channint Tatum (GI Joe).

And the right answer is… Kellan Lutz! Kellan is one of the lead vampires in the Cullen family on Twilight, playing the character of Emmett Cullen. Hilary has previously shared her love of the Twilight series, so it’s funny to see that she’s worked one of the vampires before ;)
Here is Hilary Duff’s “With Love” music video - see if you can spot the would-be vampire!

Comparing the 4 “Reach Out” Music Videos

December 3, 2008 by Arieanna

Remember all those posts I did showing you the four different versions of Hilary Duff’s “Reach Out” music video? Well, one fan (and I’m going to call this fan a genius, because it’s fantastic!) put all four versions framed into one video. So, you can see the exact differences as all four music videos play simultaneously through the song.

So, now that you’ve seen them side by side, which do you like?

Making Of the “Reach out” Music Video

November 28, 2008 by Arieanna

Barney Miller, who put up this version of the “Reach Out” music video (likely the first, though not final, edit of the video), talked about collaborating on the video.

Barney Miller is the founder / editor of Company X. He collaborated with Phil Andelman to create the “Reach Out” music video, both sharing the same vision and aesthetic for the final product. Phil directed the video and Barney Miller was responsible for the edit. Phil says that Barney’s sense of pacing is shrewd, with each cut having a “tight punch”, which definitely was the case in the final product!!

Barney said this of the video:

“The goal was to really conceptualize a defining transformation in Hilary’s career, in a classic party atmosphere. Philip eased Hilary into the shoot and guided her through the visual storytelling process. There was some trepidation from management as to whether the treatments were too risqué, but in the end, I think we realized Phil’s vision beautifully.”

The music video was said to draw inspiration from fashion photography, trying to capture a sense of still photography while also a sense of quick movement. They wanted to make it energetic without being frenetic, grabbing Hilary’s natural nuances in the music and translating that to the video.

“Reach Out” Music Video - Version 4

November 26, 2008 by Arieanna

Well, I don’t know many details about this version - who edited it, or for what purpose it was created - but a fourth version of the “Reach Out” music video has appeared. It’s still censored, in a way, but has new scenes. What do you think of this one??

Thanks Danyamara!

Alternate “Reach Out” Music Video

November 25, 2008 by Arieanna

A third version of Hilary Duff’s “Reach Out” music video (original version | tv censored version) has been found! This video, edited by Barney Miller, features more of the choking scenes with also a bunch more artistic shots that didn’t make it into the final cut for the music video. I like it!

Also, according to E-Talk (via) Hilary Duff will be spending Thanksgiving with her mom (Mike Comrie has a game the next day) somewhere “stress-free”.

Hilary Duff Video Podcast #81

November 12, 2008 by Arieanna

Hilary Duff’s latest video podcast takes us into part 3 in the behind-the-scenes look at the making of the “Reach Out” music video. In this video, it’s about 2am when Hilary continues filming the last shots of the evening. At least she can stay nice and warm in the hot tub for those sexy scenes! Love it when Ryan is lip synching!

Hilary takes some time to talk to her fans again at the end of the video, so be sure to watch it all!

Don’t forget to watch Part 1 and Part 2.

“Reach Out” Sims Music Video

November 10, 2008 by Arieanna

A fan has put together a Sims 2 imitation of Hilary Duff’s new “Reach Out” music video!! How cool is that?! I can’t even imagine how much work it was to create this music video!

Compare this to the official “Reach Out” music video:

“Reach Out” Censored

November 6, 2008 by Arieanna

Hilary Duff’s new music video for her singleReach Outhas been censored!! The version of the music video that will appear on tv has those “thumb-sucking” scenes cut out, and replaced with less explicit scenes.

Do you think this was necessary? Do you like the censored version any less, or maybe more?

Hilary Duff Podcast #80

November 5, 2008 by Arieanna

Hilary Duff’s 80th video podcast picks up on the heels of her last one, and offers a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the “Reach Out” music video.

The start of the podcast shows a lot of scenes of Prophet, but then it moves onto Hilary filming the sexy scenes of her new music video. How hard it must be to act all sexy with so many people watching and those bright lights! About half way through the video, Ryan is carrying Hilary on his back (so cute) to go film some of the outdoor scenes at night.

Reactions to “Reach Out”

October 30, 2008 by Arieanna

Hilary Duff’s “Reach Out” music video, from her “Best Of” album (November 4th release) has met with mixed reviews here, and on other sites. Mixed why? Because of it’s highly sexualized nature.

The Daily Telegraph talks about the “raunchy bondage gear” and how far a departure the music video is from the Lizzy McGuire days (which I think is totally ok!). Just Jared says there is “funny thumb-sucking” in the video (well, not quite). Dlisted says Hilary can’t pull off being sexy. VH1’s best week ever essentially calls it crap. Most sites, like People, have featured the video, but with no commentary either positive or negative about it.

So, what do YOU think?
