People.com’s TV Watch has put up a new poll asking which starlet you’re most excited about seeing this Fall on the CW.

As you know, Hilary Duff will be appearing on Gossip Girl for a guest arc this upcoming season. The CW also has some other starlets coming to their shows… so far announced are Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, who will star on Melrose Place, and Rumer Willis, who will guest star on 90210.

Right now, in the poll, Hilary Duff is leading with 62% of the votes!!

E! covered the fab news that Hilary Duff was cast for a guest arc (that means multiple episodes) on CW’s hit series Gossip Girl.

Hilary Duff will play Olivia Burke on Gossip Girl, a movie star who enrols at NYU in order to have a ‘traditional college experience.’ She’ll room with Vanessa (Jessica Szohr), and will start dating Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley)!

Hilary Duff’s first appearance on the series will be in the fourth episode, slated to air on October 5, 2009.

Hilary Duff in “Ghost Whisperer” and “Law & Order: SVU”

Hilary Duff, who had strongly-promoted guest spots this year on Ghost Whisperer and on Law & Order: SVU, will take on the character of Olivia Burke on Gossip Girl, a movie star who enrols at NYU in order to have a ‘traditional college experience.’ According to Ausiello, Hilary Duff will room with Vanessa (Jessica Szohr), to which Ausiello quips: “so it’s safe to say she’ll be majoring in Drama!”

E! reports that Hilary’s character, Olivia, has more ‘normal’ dreams outside of her college experience. She also wants to date a ’simple, nonfamous guy’. That guy… Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley)! Apparenly, Dan will become interested in Olivia, though he has no idea she’s famous. Things could get serious for the couple!

Hilary Duff had a holding deal with NBC to develop a new series. One of the shows Hilary was considering was Barely Legal, a comedy series. However, Hilary never announced which series she was interested in developing, so likely a decision was not made in time for the 2009 pilot season. It’s unclear if Hilary is still planning to develop a series for NBC for 2010.

In the episode ‘Selfish’, Hilary Duff played Ashlee Walker a “rebellious, trashy, slutty, irresponsible young mother” who is suspected of murdering daughter Sierra, who goes missing. Sierra turns out to have died the measles, contracted from a kid who hadn’t been vaccinated.

It’s not the greatest quality, but you can see that Hilary pulled out all the stops in acting for this episode. It was a very conflict-ridden episode, especially with Ashlee Walker’s mom (played by Gail O’Grady), and Hilary did a great job. EW notes that Hilary’s performance was a “model of restraint”; there are no other reviews yet, but I’ll keep my eye out!
