Hilary Duff Held 80s Prom

May 25, 2009 by Arieanna

Hilary Duff Herve LegerHilary Duff told MTV recently about how she missed having a high school prom, since she was a working actress during that time and was being homeschooled. Hilary didn’t want to miss that milestone, however, so she shared that she and some friends held their own prom!

“My girlfriends and my sister, we threw an ’80s prom party. So we all went out and got, like, vintage prom dresses and they all had to be under $80 and we looked like big, funny cupcakes.”

Hilary shares that they listened to 80s music and danced “all night to the Cure”. It was a fun night!

Hilary Duff Talks Fitness

May 20, 2009 by Arieanna

Hilary Duff GymHilary Duff recently gave a brief interview to That’s Fit about how she keeps up with her fitness routine and how she stays motivated.

Hilary Duff confessed that her schedule can be unpredictable, so getting to the gym 4 or 5 days a week is just not possible:

“I try to just squeeze in whenever I can. I work with a great trainer who I do circuits with when I can, and I also do Pilates.”

Hilary says that paying a trainer helps to keep her motivated. She never thinks “I’m going to go to the gym”, so knowing that she’s paying someone or using their time keeps her going regularly. However, Hilary says she’s putting a gym in her house, hoping that will increase her fitness routines.

The last question asked Hilary Duff if she changed her diet to get ready for summer. Hilary says she tries not to be the person who tells herself what not to eat, but rather chooses to eat in moderation and make smarter choices.

How Hilary Duff Spent Mothers Day

May 19, 2009 by Arieanna

Hilary Duff AIDS WalkAccording to InTouch magazine, Hilary Duff’s mom, Susan, has a great relationship with Hilary’s boyfriend, Mike Comrie.

Hilary shared that her Mothers Day plans included a trip to Napa for some wine tasting. Susan Duff, who celebrates her birthday 2 days after Mothers Day, usually just gets one big celebration for both events. I’m not sure if they’ve yet taken that trip, but Hilary & Mike were seen spending Mothers Day with Susan anyway.

“We all spent the day together. We played board games, cooked crab cakes, and later we ate at a really amazing Italian restaurant in LA. It was quiet and nice!”

Hilary Duff says that one day she’d love to have kids of her own, but that won’t be “any time soon.” However, it looks like Hilary & Mike are doing great in their relationship!

Hilary Duff NYLON Interview

May 16, 2009 by Arieanna

Hilary Duff Empire State BuildingHilary Duff talked this week with NYLON magazine about her charity work, her Femme for DKNY line, and her role in The Story of Bonnie and Clyde.

Hilary first starts out talking about charity and how our generation needs to step up and do more volunteer work. That said, Hilary won’t “shake her finger” at anyone, since life is stressful as a young person, but says:

“We do a really good job of having sob stories for ourselves, when there’s a lot more need out there and a lot more people who have it harder than we do. Doing really simple things can actually be fun and be so rewarding.”

Hilary Duff talks briefly about what’ll be on her iPod for the AIDS Walk this weekend, then goes on to talk about her Femme for DKNY fashion line:

“We did two pairs of jeans this season—it’s kind of a selfish line, because it’s skinny jeans, which look the best on me. One thing I wanted was multiple-size belt loops, because sometimes I want to wear a skinny little belt wrapped around a million times, or sometimes I want to wear a really fat one that won’t ever stay in place, slung low. So it just has a lot of options. There’s other stuff, too, like little shrunken leather jackets. I wanted the stuff to be smart.”

Hilary says her inspiration for the line was “normal girls”, just regular people she sees out with unique styles. It’s not people with lots of money or lots of clothes, just people having a unique perspective in putting together what they do have. Nice! Read more

Hilary Duff talks Femme for DKNY

May 15, 2009 by Arieanna

Stay Cool Party At The 2009 Tribeca Film Festival Hosted By StoliIn the video I shared earlier today, Hilary Duff talks at around 3:35 about her new fashion line, Femme for DKNY Jeans. Hilary said:

“It’s not only jeans. We did little jackets and tops and a few dresses and big cowl neck scarves, which is really fun…

Since people are not wanting to spend a ton of money on clothes, it was really important to me designing the line to give people something extra. Like things that detach… something that comes with a top: maybe a big scarf that’s attached at the back, but you can take it off and wear it with something else. Or certain clothes that you can wear multiple different ways and it’ll look totally different.

All of that’s going to be shown on the website, but my inspiration was kind of selfish, because I did a lot of clothes that I like to wear. And I wanted to do that for my fans who feel that maybe those type of clothes aren’t accessible where they are. This line is very accessible, very affordable, and really stylish.”

Hilary Duff has been wearing a lot of scarves this Spring - so it sounds like we’ll see that inspired in the new line! Can’t wait!

And for those of you craving new pics of Hilary, check her out this set from a dinner Mike & Hilary recently had with Susan, and also some of Hilary & Mike at the JFK airport.

Hilary Duff “Let it Be” Tattoo

May 9, 2009 by Arieanna

Hilary Duff recently acknowledged her new tattoo and the meaning behind it. We’ve known about the tattoo for some time now, although most of the time Hilary’s shoes cover it up. The tattoo, which is on the side of her foot, reads “Let it Be”.

Hilary told In Touch that her new tattoo was something she got done at her home with a few friends and even her mom!

“I wanted a tattoo, and you only live once. Someone came to my house, and my Mom and I did it together with a few of our friends.

I have a hectic, crazy life. Things are crazy all around me, and I get stressed out. It’s like, I’m just one little person, let it be. And that’s what it is!”

First Look: Hilary Duff in “What Goes Up”

May 8, 2009 by Arieanna

The What Goes Up insider blog has just posted a new interview / preview with Hilary Duff!

In the movie What Goes Up, Hilary Duff plays a “narcissistic seductress” named Lucy who attempts to win over the much older Campbell Babbitt (Steve Coogan) when he returns to his hometown to cover the news of the first civilian in space. The blog entry describes Lucy as someone who “eventually reveals much more depth than the way people perceive her.”

The video above contains two scenes from What Goes Up with Steve Coogan, and an interview with Hilary talking about living life with people perceiving you differently than how you are. This is something Hilary feels she shares with Lucy. Hilary talks about other things, including how great it was to work on this particular movie with such a talented cast.

The Insider blog has also revealed more details about the World Premiere today of What Goes Up at the Buffalo Niagara Film Festival. They also list which theaters will be premiering the movie on May 29th.
