Hilary Duff “Let it Be” Tattoo

May 9, 2009 by Arieanna

Hilary Duff recently acknowledged her new tattoo and the meaning behind it. We’ve known about the tattoo for some time now, although most of the time Hilary’s shoes cover it up. The tattoo, which is on the side of her foot, reads “Let it Be”.

Hilary told In Touch that her new tattoo was something she got done at her home with a few friends and even her mom!

“I wanted a tattoo, and you only live once. Someone came to my house, and my Mom and I did it together with a few of our friends.

I have a hectic, crazy life. Things are crazy all around me, and I get stressed out. It’s like, I’m just one little person, let it be. And that’s what it is!”

Hilary Duff Talks AIDS Walk

May 1, 2009 by Arieanna

Not long after Hilary Duff’s PSA video for the AIDS Walk New York was released, Hilary was interviewed about why she was involved in the program.

Hilary considers it important to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS:

“We have a responsibility to educate young people about HIV/AIDS. So when I hear about how more young people are getting HIV because they don’t understand the risks of infection, it just seems so tragic and avoidable.”

Hilary thinks that her fans can change that - that they can get involved with their own communities, donate to the AIDS walk, or come out and walk with her. Do you have plans to walk with Hilary?

Hilary Duff will be helping to raise money and awareness for HIV and AIDS by participating in the AIDS Walk New York on May 17, 2009. You can join Hilary Duff’s “Walk with Love” team here or can pledge your support to any of the team members participating.

Hilary Duff at Tice Elementary - Video

March 5, 2009 by Arieanna

There are more reports out about Hilary Duff’s appearance at Tice Elementary School on Wednesday to support her Blessings in a Backpack program, which sends food home with kids on Friday so they and their families don’t go hungry for the weekend. The cost to run the program is $80 per child for the school year, so Hilary was on hand earlier this week to help fundraise to keep the program active.

Hilary hopes her appearance there will raise awareness about hunger and encourage the community to help out.

“”People don’t realize the need out there. These kids are our future and if we’re not feeding them we’re in trouble.”

Hilary Duff Wishes Rihanna The Best

March 5, 2009 by Arieanna

Hilary Duff was recently asked if she had anything to say to Rihanna, who was abused by boyfriend Chris Brown. Rihanna sustained several injuries last month. I was saddened to hear that Rihanna is still dating Chris, despite this abuse, and at the message this sends to young women.

Hilary Duff talked to Extra at the Power of Love Gala in Las Vegas on the weekend. When asked about Rihanna, Hilary says:

“I wish her all the best and want to let girls out there know that it’s never okay to be treated like that.”

Go Hilary! We need to send a strong message that abuse shouldn’t be tolerated. As much as I’m glad Rihanna is ok, I wish she would have considered that her choices affect so many others because she’s a public figure.

Also have a look at some set photos from Safety Glass taken by the musicians working with the film.

Hilary Duff Doesn’t Want to Strike

Hilary Duff has put her name down on a petition of actors opposed to a possible strike by the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). The petition urges the SAG board not to hold a strike ballot and instead to accept the deal proposed by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).

The AMPTP feels the current economic crisis is a poor time to go on strike until there’s a “perfect” contract, and instead suggest accepting the AMPTP deal for the next 3 years. Like the strike earlier in the year, this strike is based upon royalties from sales and showings of work on the Internet.

“We think that a public statement should be made by SAG recognizing that although this is not a deal we want, it is simply not a time when our union wants to have any part in creating more economic hardship while so many people are already suffering.”

Other stars opposing the possible strike include Robert Redford, Russel Crowe, and Julianne Moore. Over 130 stars called on the SAG union not to authorize a strike. In order to strike, members of the SAG will vote on January 2nd.

Hilary Duff likes “Gossip Girl”

December 12, 2008 by Arieanna

Last night at the Stand Up to Cancer event, Hilary Duff talked with E! on the red carpet.

Hilary Duff admitted to being a big fan of Gossip Girl, with her favorite character being Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), which is more of an unusual choice!

“I don’t know why, because he’s so bad and terrible. He is so sad that I feel bad for him.”

Hilary talked a little more about her deal with NBC for her new show.

“It’s exciting. I’ve been meeting with writers. I’m ready to get back on TV.”

And we’re ready to see you back on TV, Hilary!!

Hilary Duff’s Christmas Wish

December 10, 2008 by Arieanna

At the SLS Hotel Opening last week, Hilary Duff gave a short interview about what she really wants for Christmas:

“[I want] my family to all be together. We’re all working at opposite ends of the universe right now so I just hope we can all come together for a few days.”

Leave it to Hilary to think about her family right now, instead of material things. Hilary has always been very humble that way. When asked specifically about Mike Comrie, and whether or not Hilary would be expecting a ring (i.e. a proposal) from him this Christmas, Hilary said “No!” at the oh-so-shocking idea. Still, it would be romantic, don’t you think?!

Check out Hilary talking about her Christmas wish at about 1:30 in the video below:
