In recent images of Hilary Duff you notice a little tattoo right below the outside of her right ankle! The tattoo reads “let it be.”

In this first picture, taken when Hilary and Mike were in the Bahamas, you can clearly see the tattoo below her shoe line.

It’s harder to see in this second picture, but you can see a tiny glimpse on the outside of her ankle at the Power of Love Gala in Las Vegas.

According to US Weekly, Nicole Richie is quite jealous of Hilary Duff’s relationship to Joel Madden. I don’t know if it’s the pregnancy hormones or just her personality, but she is, indeed, out of line:

A source tells Us Weekly that Nicole Richie, 26, teases Joel Madden, 28, about his two-and-a-half-year relationship with singer-actress Hilary Duff, 20.

"She will ask if he’s going to watch Lizzie McGuire DVDs or listen to Hilary’s albums," says the source. "Joel tells her she’s being out of line."

Hilary Duff took the upper hand and extended her best wishes to Joel Madden on his upcoming baby with Nicole Richie.

That’s the word from Us Weekly, which says the toothsome starlet, 19, sent a text message to her self-described "first love" after his impending fatherhood with Nicole Richie was confirmed during their recent sit-down with Diane Sawyer.

"After they appeared on ‘Good Morning America,’ Hilary breezily texted Joel congratulations on the pregnancy, and Joel warmly responded," an adverb-happy mole tells the mag.

Duff’s alleged well wishes are quite a change from her previous stance on their romance, which began shortly after she and Madden called it quits late last year after two and a half years of togetherness…

According to Us, Duff’s kinder, gentler attitude is a result of her budding romance with Comrie, 26, whom she’s reportedly been seeing for several weeks.

"Hilary plays it coy, but she’s really into him," says the snitch, who describes the lantern-jawed New York Islander as a "great guy." "He’s the first she’s been serious about since splitting with Joel … They’re just great together."

You know, I doubt Mike is responsible for the change. I think Hilary Duff is just a great person and wanted to wish Joel well, as he was a big part of her life and they remained friends after the breakup. I am very happy that this clears up all the rumors of Hilary Duff being bitter about the whole situation.

Nicole Richie confirms to ABC News that she is, indeed, pregnant with Joel Madden’s baby. They are about 4 months along now in the pregnancy.

"Yes I am. We are. I’m almost four months," says Richie in an interview airing on Good Morning America Thursday and on 20/20 Friday (Aug. 2, 3)…

Richie, 25, also tells Sawyer why she pleaded guilty for an arrest stemming from a December 2006 incident in which she was spotted driving the wrong way on the freeway and admitted to police that she’d smoked pot and taken Vicodin before driving.

"I have a responsibility and it’s something that I did wrong," says Richie, "and if I could personally apologize to every single person that has lost a loved one from drunk driving I would. And unfortunately I can’t, but this is my way of paying my dues and taking responsibility and being an adult."

Richie was sentenced to four days in jail and will have to complete three years of probation and pay a $2,048 fine.

Richie, the 25-year-old adopted daughter of Lionel Richie, has been seeing the 28-year-old Madden for more than six months. She had previously dated Canadian music producer and entrepreneur Brad Salyn and was engaged to DJ AM, aka Adam Goldstein. Madden was dating tween queen turned Maxim covergirl Hilary Duff before breaking it off to start dating Richie.

The report also indicates that Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton will be ending "The Simple Life."

Hilary Duff ran into Joel Madden & Nicole Richie at the Chateau Marmont. According to the news (and also in the InTouch scans from this morning) Joel & Nicole were having dinner at Chateau Marmont in a very intimate way. Sources say that it was not just the intimacy, but that Hilary Duff was also at the restaurant - which made Nicole uncomfortable and overprotective. 

Just a few tables over, his ex-girlfriend Hilary Duff was sitting with her sister, Haylie, and a group of friends. Although they were in the same place, "there was no greeting, no acknowledgement," the spy claims.

The news says that Nicole used to get jealous when Joel would talk to Hilary after their breakup.

Kind of a tame thing to be called a "scandal", but such things apparently sell tabloids!

News just in - Nicole Richie is confirmed pregnant with Hilary Duff’s ex Joel Madden’s baby. And Joel Madden & Nicole Richie are set to get married.

She’s been avoiding questions and rumors for weeks, but recently Nicole Richie started to confess to friends that she really is pregnant. "Nicole didn’t want to tell anyone until she was past three months," a pal explains. "She really kept the news from everyone."

And a baby isn’t the only happy news. Nicole, 25, "is getting married this summer" to her boyfriend, Joel Madden, says an insider.

Joel, 28, who fronts the band Good Charlotte, seems excited about starting a new life with Nicole, too. "He kept talking about his fiancée," Guttermouth guitarist Donald Horne, whose band played with Joel’s in Quebec on June 29, tells In Touch. Joel also spoke about leaving LA, adds Donald. "He was talking about looking to settle down someplace nice and start a family," he says.

I really hope this doesn’t hurt Hilary…

USA Today, although giving Dignity only 2.5/4 stars, has a great interview with Hilary Duff.

First, Hilary Duff talks about ‘Stranger’ and ‘Gypsy Woman’ and how they relate to her parents - NOT to Joel Madden & Nicole Richie:

Duff insists that both songs —Stranger and Gypsy Woman— were inspired by a crisis having nothing to do with her former beau.

“This is so hard to talk about,” Duff says, holed up in a tiny dressing room at MTV’s studios, where she co-hosted TRL last week. She’s referring to the separation last year of her parents, Bob and Susan Duff, which the family managed to keep more private than the Duff/Madden breakup. “For some reason, I was embarrassed that my family wasn’t perfect and that some woman had broken it up.”

That other woman, she says, is the subject of Gypsy, which the singer co-wrote with her elder sister and frequent collaborator, Haylie. “And Stranger is a song I wrote about how my mom must feel around my dad. I made it seem like it was about a relationship I was in, because I didn’t want people to know about my parents. But I’ve realized that so many people can relate to what I’ve gone through.”

I feel horrible that Hilary had to go through that, but I hope she found some closure by writing the songs.

Hilary Duff talked to MTV about her hard choice of whether or not to keep on songs that she wrote while she was still with Joel Madden:

Hilary Duff said splitting from Joel Madden was the right thing to do, but it wasn’t easy. "We had a great relationship," she told MTV News. "I don’t look back and wish we weren’t together." Duff explained that the couple ended things on good terms, but feelings were still hurt. "I didn’t know why I didn’t want to be in a relationship anymore. I was still, like, what am I doing? I love this person." The singer/actress said the breakup resulted in a creative boost that inspired songs with many emotions, including tracks that Duff describes as "a little bit angry and some that are a little bit hurt and lonely and sad." Her album Dignity, due Tuesday, features those songs — as well as ones that are about the good times. "I was really scared [to] put these songs on the record about us being happy, but then I was like, ‘Why?’ Those were my experiences too." …

TeenPeople.com: You’ve been a busy girl. Besides the album, you’ve got two movies coming out this year.
Hilary: I just finished working on Foodfight!, an animated movie that I did a voice for, which stars Charlie Sheen and Eva Longoria. It’s about what happens at the grocery store when it closes at night. It comes to life and all the characters on the boxes comes to life. And so that was a lot of fun. And I just finished working on a movie that shot in Bulgaria called Brand Hauser, starring John Cusack, Marisa Tomei and Sir Ben Kingsley. It’s a very artsy, controversial film that was really fun for me because it made me really challenge myself and play a role that I haven’t played before. It’s very edgy and far away from who I am in my every day life."

TeenPeople.com: Your sound on Dignity is very different from what we’ve heard before, too. It’s decidedly more adult.
Hilary: It is still pop, but it is very different for me. It’s got some Indian vibes, Balinese beats, a little bit of hip-hop and dance-pop, so it sounds kind of ’80s. It’s very all over the place. And that’s my taste in music. So it was really fun for me to put all those elements together and really be a part of creating it this time around. This record is just really honest. All the things that I wrote about are things that I deal with, things I want to talk about. It fits where I am in my life.
