Hilary Duff has confirmed that she will be making a trip to Bogota, Colombia this August (sometime in the first week)

As previously mentioned, Hilary Duff was named youth ambassador for Bogota. She’ll be traveling to Bogota with her charity, Blessings in a Backpack, to visit schoolchildren as part of an aim to take the weekend feeding program International.

“I am honored to meet the schoolchildren of Bogota, along with the founder of Blessings in a Backpack, Stan Curtis. We are, sincerely, pleased with the people of Bogota for their genuine efforts to feed the hungry children.”

Hilary Duff will pay a visit to schools around Bogota and will participate in cultural activities with Bogota Mayor Samuel Moreno.

Hilary Duff headed to the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta on Saturday to serve as the grand marshal for the NASCAR Nationwide Series Meijer 300.

Hilary Duff was at the event on behalf of Blessings in a Backpack, the charity organization that helps feed children over the weekend. The organization partnered with Meijer for the race weekend - raising more than $50,000 and collecting new and used backpacks for students. Read more

Here are some more photos of Hilary Duff yesterday in New York where she was on a panel of judges for the “Bike in Style Challenge”. The challenge asked fashion students to create stylish, practical and affordable bike clothing and gear to encourage cycling in New York. All students were asked to create a poncho, jacket and travel bag for both men and women.

Hilary Duff will be heading to the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta on June 13th. She’s going to serve as the grand marshal of the NASCAR nationwide series “Meijer 300 Presented by Ritz.”

Hilary will be there as spokesperson for Blessings in a Backpack, a charity close to her heart. She’ll be encouraging donations for the charity, a non-profit that works to provide backpacks of food for kids in various schools across the US.

Hilary Duff and 24 students from Gallatin County Schools will participate in activities at the Speedway, including a pit-road bike relay race. Hilary will also give the command for the NASCAR race to begin.

“Hilary goes out with me to visit schools every three or four months, and I get to see that transformational moment when the students see ‘Lizzie McGuire’ or ‘Cinderella,’” Curtis said. “It’s incredible.”

If you’re going to the race, the Kentucky Speedway is encouraging you to bring new or used backpacks to donate to Blessings in a Backpack.

Hilary Duff co-hosted the AIDS Walk Opening Ceremony in Central Park, NY this morning. In addition, Hilary Duff had a group together to walk as part of the event. Mike Comrie was there at her side as her “Hilary Duff - Walk With Love” group progressed through the city.

Over 45,000 people came out this morning for the largest AIDS fundraiser in the world. Aside from addressing the crowd before the walk began, and walking with her group, Hilary Duff was there to talk to reporters to help increase the awareness of the importance of everyone increasing their own education about HIV/AIDS.

Yesterday Hilary Duff took part in a special ceremony to light up the Empire State Building in red in honor of the AIDS Walk this weekend, the largest AIDS fundraising event in the world. In an interview at the event, Hilary talks about what an honor it is for her to be involved in the event and in bringing awareness to HIV/AIDS.

Hilary encourages everyone to learn as much as they can about HIV/AIDS and to come join her for the walk this weekend!

Early this afternoon, Hilary Duff flipped the switch in a ceremony to honor the AIDS Walk fundraiser coming up this weekend in New York. The ceremony lit the Empire State Building up in red lights for 24 hours. While at the event, Hilary Duff went to the observation deck for a photoshoot:
