Hilary Duff Named Youth Ambassador in Bogota

Hilary Duff has been named as ambassador for the youth for the city of Bogota in Colombia. According to the Mayor of Bogota, Hilary Duff will be coming to the city sometime between August 1 and August 15 to be a guest of honor.
This honor was brought about as Blessings in a Backpack, the charity Hilary Duff has been ambassador of for some time now, plans to take the program to new levels. The charity will be promoted around Bogota in school and community diners, with the mayor saying that Hilary was inspired by existing feeding campaigns in the city.
The Blessings in a Backpack program, in Bogota, will also be encouraging participation in vaccination programs.

I’m from Colombia and I really hope that by having “famous” people coming here, the world will be able to experience the country for what it really is. I have to say, the first 5 minutes of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” were incredibly insulting and bordering on ignorant. Bogota isn’t tropical at all, it’s usually around 60°F, not exactly a place where you can happily dance in the rain without getting sick. It’s also very cosmopolitan, with lots of malls and incredible restaurants, not at all like you would expect a city to be in a 3rd world country. However, it does have very empoverished areas (especially in recent years, a consequence of out internal conflict) and I hope Ms. Duff will be able to lend a helping hand. My advice? Take your time to get to know the city, and if you can, visit Cartagena (my hometown), you’ll be grateful you did.
Hilary Duff besides to be beautiful woman. She is kindhearted. I like that she is supports the fair cause in Bogotá Colombia. With her plan “BLESSINGS IN A BACKPACK”.
