First “What Goes Up” Premiere Date!
April 15, 2009 by Arieanna
James Hoke, executive producer for Hilary Duff’s What Goes Up (originally Safety Glass), put up a blog post today talking about the process of making the movie and some news about its release.
The first theatrical release for What Goes Up will be at the Buffalo Niagra Film Festival on May 6th at 9:30PM. However, the site also lists a premiere of Friday, Friday, May 8th at 7:15PM (buy tickets here), so I’ll be confirming which is the right date. There’s no word if Hilary will be there for the premiere.
After this premiere, What Goes Up will be shown in major cities across the US, with a planned release in Los Angeles, New York, Chicao, and Las Vegas. More cities will be coming and I’ll keep you updated as the production crew releases details. If you guys get behind the film by going to the releases and building up the buzz, maybe we can see it all across North America!
James describes his time with Hilary Duff as fantastic, saying she was generous with her time off camera (“an amazing person”) and that she delivered a great performance in the film. He talks about the new song Hilary Duff recorded for What Goes Up, saying that Hilary wrote the song while on set in Vancouver. The song is called “Any Other Day.”
In terms of the DVD, James confirms that the release date is still fuzzy. It may be delayed if the theatrical release goes well, or it may release while the movie is still in theaters. For those of you in other countries, James says to keep up support for the film and details on release are forthcoming.

This is awsome news!
Can’t wait to hear the new song
Arieanna,
The 7:15 p.m. May 8 date is correct. The date had changed three times within a 24-hour period as the production team and the festival worked out what would be the best time for the movie.
The Friday night festival premiere is a great start!

Is the new song a single?
I’m so excited for Hilary’s new movies. I’m DYING to see Greta…no pun intended, haha!
The new song will be released as part of a soundtrack, and it might be released as a single.
Best,
