Interview:

Capricho had the chance of speaking with the actress and singer Hilary Duff for 5 minutes before she had to leave for a concert in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The singer, who is traveling the world with her Dignity tour, told us that she’s very exited to be in Brazil. Check out the exclusive interview.

We were told that you can speak for only 5 minute with us because you’re going to the airport. Where are you now and where are you going?

Yes, I’m in Puebla, Mexico, and now I am going to … (thinks) … Guadalajara. I’m sorry! I didn’t even think about it yet. I’m in a different place every day, there’s no way, you always forget where you’re going.

It’s true… And soon you will be here in Brazil. What do you expect from your concerts here?

OMG, I’m extremely exited. There are so many messages on my site from Brazil and so many people who write me. I’ve never been there and I think the concerts will be great.

Will there be anything different, special?

It’s my normal concert, revamped. But we’ll have a couple of new songs. One of my bassists is from Brazil, he is really exited to go home and he is teaching me things I can say in Portuguese for my shows.

When was the last time you had a vacation?

I don’t remember… I had small vacations, of about two days, I went to Idaho in the summer, to a beautiful resort. It was nice, but for a shor time, you know?

If you woke up tomorrow and found out that you were a regular person, no longer famous, what would you like to do?

I’ve always been interested for decoration and makeup. I remember to be really little and ask “where is my make-up?”. I think I would definitely do something creative.

Working so hard, do you have time for your personal life? To see your parents, friend and boyfriend? How do you handle that?

I don’t really have a lot of free time, but in a way this is the only life I’ve known. I make sure that all the free time I have is well spent. My boyfrind is very understanding, so when he’s not working, he flies to wherever I am touring, and if I’m not doing any shows, I’ll go to wherever he is working. We make it work.

What do you two do when you’re together?

We love food, so we go out to dinner and have a lot of fun. We like to go to the movies and stuff like that, but it’s cool when we can spend more time together, like go on vacations. That’s when, then we get to do more exciting things, because sometimes we’ll spend two or three months without seeing each other.

Do you think that talking about your boyfriend to the press may prejudice your relationship?

I don’t mention it a lot. I’m honest when people ask me about it, but we’re not the type of couple that goes to a restaurant and want to be photographed. I think avoiding these things also helps to avoid people following me, so they have to work extra hard to find something new to talk about.

Do you have any pets?

I have two dogs and two cats. I love animals, this year was my first having cats, I adopted both of them and I found out that they are completely different from dogs, but I like them a lot. I leave them with my sister, who also has two dogs, so there are four dogs and two cats in the same house.

Have you ever thought of giving up your career?

Yes. I once worked on a TV series when I was younger, before Lizzie McGuire, and in a certain time they cut my character from the series and replaced me for a pair of twins. It wasn’t exactly my fault, they had the twins in the script, but at that time you always think you did something wrong. Then I wanted to give up everything and go to school to have a normal life. But I did an audition to Lizzie McGuire, and they kept calling me. I wasn’t sure I wanted to do it, until I finally changed my mind.

Well she made a right decision - accepting the offer of Lizzie McGuire. So glad she changed her mind and took it. Or else she wouldn’t be so sucessful and famous now.

    Love it! :o)

I already knew that Hilary almost hadn’t gone on the audition for Lizzie McGuire, from watching the Dignity Deluxe DVD. She said on there about when she got cut from the cast of ‘Daddio’. All I can say, is thank goodness Hilary went for that audition. If she hadn’t have gone for that audition, then she would never be where she is now, and none of us would know who she was. This may sound really stupid, but I can’t imagine my life without Hilary Duff in it. It would be unbearable! Lol! Anyway, if she hadn’t gone for that audition, she would have been a regular kid growing up, going to school, and just doing ballet dancing as a hobby. Now, she would be a 20 year old young woman, who probably would have been off to university and would just be starting a career, whereas Hilary has her career panned out for her already… I guess we can all thank Disney really, for keep calling Hilary, and pleading with her to go to their auditions. After almost 10 years since the beginning of her career, let’s just hope that Hilary can keep going for a long time yet!

    Much love,
