Hilary Duff denies lip synching
At her most recent concert in Mexico, Hilary Duff had some technical difficulties that resulted in people accusing her of lip synching. Hilary Duff was seen to be singing into the mic, but no sound could be heard. The glitch is seen below:
Here is a report from PEOPLE, which denies the rumor:
"She was not lip-synching," her reps tell PEOPLE. "It was faulty equipment. There was no sound coming out, but she was singing."
According to the tour staff, Hilary was relying on local sound equipment rather than her own gear and the microphone was accidentally set to mute.

I believe she probably wasn’t lipsynching if she were to do such a thing then there would have been sound coming out of the mic. even when she wasn’t singing or at least that’s what I believe.

Actually Bleh, if Hilary was in fact lip synching (which I have no doubt she was), then there would be no sound coming out of the mike. Anyways, it doesn’t matter. She’s a good role model, she’s involved in a lot of great charities, and she makes young girls happy (even if she is deceiving them); that’s all that matters.

I think this has happend to ashlee simpson 3 years ago on SNL & it was embrassing for her to lipsynch, but i’m sure hilary did the samething

i think since play with fire is the first song, i believe she wasn’t faking it. the song hadn’t started yet, so i doubt she was singing, maybe she was just saying hello to her fans, and then when they turned the mic back on she sang

i wonder guys..do you think she’s ok notwithstandining all the mess madden and richie are doing for their new daughter?
i think joel was so unsensitive. and considering who he’s dating now,he was also partly responsable of hilary’s loss of weight.you know what?i think hilary should be happy that it’s over,because he was such a disappointment and he was totally not coherent with what he said.
he and richie want to be a classy couple.to me their just ridicolous.she’s there just because of her father. hilary is famous ’cause she broke her bones with her job. madden acts like a rocker,but he’s just a guy with no personality.

i don’t know if she was lip sync..it doesn’t seems so. i think she has this base pre-recorded to help her in the moments when she lacks of breath,so when she doesn’t sing,the voice sings for her.but most of the time she sings live too,with the voice pre-recorded background. i think it’s pretty clear,’cause it’s pretty impossible have always a perfect voice while you run and dance around. she can sing,but shows are hard and she needs help.many artists do it.

Ok, I think she did was lip singing, I mean, if were she who was actually singing and the mike were on, so her voice would be listened but inchange, the recorder which had to play her voice was retarded and it didn’t play it at all! I always thought that she cant’t sing, when she came to Venezuela I could see that she had a “problem” with the mike but was prob the same thing that happened here, I still love her, but is dissapointing to realize that she can’t sing!

IF she was Lipsyncing the Track would have STARTED PLAYING!! so OBVIOUSLY she WASNT faking it!!! It doesnt take a genius to realise it! Im sick of people saying she was lip syncin go listen 2 Danger is Obvious its LIVE and even people who wento to the concert said it WAS FAULTY EQIUPMENT! :)

Hey.. no offense but i think hilary was lip synging :S:S!! i love her and i’m a big fan! but gaby umm ok you said that the song would of started playing if she was lipsynging but the song wasnt supposed to start at the beggining becuz in the begginig she was saying hey mexico (but her mic was turned off because she was gonna lyp sing after and that’s why we couldnt hear the hey mexico part ) come on people listen to the song danger on your ipod and then listen it here it’s the same… if i’m right then sorry 2 dissapoint you guys :S but i love hil 2 !! and well umm its not really a BIG DEAL to lip sing! oh yea and if she was gonna start singing the song at the begginig then it wouldnt have been so short when she “sang” but we couldnt hear her.. so yeaa she was saying hey mexico let’s rock (i think) and it was turned off because she was gonna lip sing after saying the hey mexico part!!

Actually, any of you trolling little poser kids, like the so called redbeanicecream, will want to know that her voice wasn`t being heard, meaning that the mike wasn`t turned on or the signal from the mike wasn`t being heard through the mixer, such as when the level was down or is set on mute. You commie trolls try to get everyone down all the time, but no go-go, flunkies. The Hilary Hemisphere wins all the time! Awesome show, Hil!

I totally understand that problem… One when I was putting on a show our first sound cue was a recording, and the speakers were accidently put on mute, so it completely threw everyone off. It happens sometimes that at a show the tech ppl will put the mike to mute after a song so that the crowd can;t hear what is going on backstage, it is really really common to simply forget. I feel bad for her that that had to happen. But she’ll get thru it, its definatly not the worst thing that has happened to her

hi daniel..you know,you can judge people in a good way (as you do for hilary),but i can’t judge badly somebody..why?it’s a free world i guess ;)
i think it’s hypocritical a girl who was in heroin at a young age,and feel like an hero because she’s been to jail for a dui then act like the perfect mum of the year.
of course i believe that people can “heal”.but it’s not classy at all to have a baby with another girl after one month you’ve been left by your girlfriend(joel). and it’s not “cool” to go around with your car risking to kill other people than laughing about it at david letterman when millions of people who look at you and like you are watching(nicole).if they needed a baby to get it,i hope for them their age is more next to 15 rather than 30.it’s ok to forgive,it’s not ok to forget.
i’m a fan of hil, i just want to tell her something more real than one of those overrated sentences like “life goes on and bla bla bla”.i’m a believer in love,and her split with joel was a disappontment that maybe i took too personally,and this can be my fault.

i don’t know if you’ve seen the video of you tube in which hil was singing on the stage at Endfest 2007. if you listen carefully, there’s a base with hil voice singing,and ,sometimes,you can hear her singing on the base.this is what happened during her tour concerts.actually during end fest,she sang so badly when she did it..i don’t know.i’ll wait for her aol session of her new album to give my final opinion..
so,she actually doesn’t sing live during all the shows,but just when she has enough breath to sing louder than the base.and maybe she doens’t like do this,but there are millions of dollars around her shows and career,and i think they prefer to use these “tactics” to not risk to sell less tickets. an artists gets money from concerts nowadays,more than from album sellings.so they have to make everything look perfct,even doing fake stuff if necessary. hil is still not mature enough in her voice.i’m sure next album will be the “boom” one!
in the video,they probably forget to turn on the myc,of course.and even if she knows it,she continue to sing,to avoid ashlee simpson mistake. she probably thought the base would have start soon anyway,so she went on hoping to get the right time!
you know,i can’t judge badly her for this. she’s an idol,not a real singer,not a real actress (yet..?).she can be both of them but it’s too soon.she’s one of those people that the audience love just for being themselves. and i prefer somebody like hil,maybe not the greatest singer on earth, to a performer like amy winehouse,with her amazing voice but with her highly offensive behavour.
i’m happy to see hil well recovered from anorexia,and i hope she will soon give up her jimmy choo too (as she suggests..).when she’ll get she done’t need them,when she’ll get she don’t need that base for singing too,i think we’ll get the best hil we can get.i forgive her ’cause she’s still so young..
i hope to see hil grow up and elevate her self in the right direction she can get and not to see her fading like a falling star.

Hilary was singing! She starts the tour with play with fire and she says ” love me love me” which was what she said if you look close but sound didnt come out because of mic problems! If she were doing lip-syncing,than sond would of come out!

i agree with natasha that has happened to me too..once i left the mice on and everybody could here wat i was saying to the bass player that was beside me…and they didnt suppossed to be hearin…so next time i turned off the mice and when i was gonna sing i forgot to turn on the mice then i realized it was off so immidatly i stoped playing the piano with one hand to turned on the mice…the only thing you could hear b4 i turned on the mice was the choir girls…hilary was just saying hi or something like she did in all of her latest concerts!!! but…i think she was lipsynching in that song…but the rest of the songs were live…you can tell!!!! theres nothing wrong with lipsynching…the biggest stars do that…but i dont see the point of lipsyching anyway…i think its stupid!!! but ive heard hilary sing live and she sounds great!!! gotta love her…peace!!!

i work with sound boards at school so i know a lot about this problem, they didnt turn up her mic in time! she doesnt control it, the sound board guys do. if she was lip syncing she would have stopped moving her mouth and would have had an “OH SHIT” expression on her face, but she didnt, she acted like nothing was happening. so she WAS NOT lip syncing! Listen to a professional talk.

When I first saw video I thought it was werid and after that I didn’t take any notice.

I appreciate your extensive comment, but I don’t have the amount of time that you do, so I’ll make this brief. You reap wut u sow, u want to continue judging people, your going to have a taste of your own medicine someday. Oh, and assumption is the mother of all screw-ups. Actually, I was tlkn about Joel not Nicole, but… yeah she has had some major issues in the past, but instead of pointing the finger at her, instead, why don’t u wish that she clean up her act. And about Hil “not being a real singer, not a real actress”, obviously you have not been awake for the last 10 years and been a dormant state of mind. Maybe you should visit Amy Winehouse website, whoever that is. And for your info, Hil is already the best and is in the right direction. It does seem a bit dubious at first, but listen to how it sounds when she sings “I can’t believe it’s really you”… It sounds like the sound is too loud, as if the soundman is adjusting the mic as Hilary is singing. If it were a backtrack playing it may be louder, but it wouldn’t be distorted like it was. It seriously sounded like the mic was off, and then it was too loud when she first started singing (which causes the distortion, you know how it sounds when someone eats the mic too much?), and then it was adjusted. I’ve always watched her carefully to try to catch her lip-syncing, but I’ve never found a convincing case; this video only confirms to me that she wasn’t lip-syncing.
