Gypsy Woman and Stranger - about Hilary’s parents
Hilary Duff has repeatedly squashed the rumors that Gypsy Woman and Stranger are about Joel Madden and Nicole Richie. Now, she’s interviewed as saying they are about her parents!
The teen star insists she has no bitterness towards Richie - and that the songs are actually about her mother and father.
Duff says, "I’ve read that Gypsy Woman and Stranger are about Nicole but they’re not - they are about my parents.
I want Joel to be happy, and if she makes him happy… Obviously he’s going to find someone else, like I’m going to do."

how come there of her parents? my gosh stranger & gypsy woman r the bitchiest songs on the album! wonder whats wrong with her parents 4 her 2 dedicate those songs 2 them!
i seriously love her new album dignity i heard all the songs one word AMAZING! Ilove all the songs dunno how she did it (again) but this is top notch album cannot wait 4 April 3rd

I don’t think the song is about her mom, but its about her dad. In the Thank You notes on the album she doesn’t even mention him, but she mentions her mom and Haylie and other family members except her dad. I think its prob cause he didn’t agree with them moving to LA in the first place, and he isn’t that supportive of her. It seems weird that he’s stayed over in Texas and left her mom to deal with everything, he doesn’t even visit them much…Its sad but I hope Hil’s okay now =) I don’t know what happened in 2006 though. =( xo

wow, didnt think it wud be abt her parents, n now tht i come to think of it, we never hear anything bout her dad, so i guess it cud be, but her mom, i thought she was always so nice…but hey we can never really know wats up round there. n it shows tht everyone has there own thing, hilary’s a normal person just like everyone else, tho it may not seem like tht in every aspect, but with family issues n stuff, just hope she’s ok!! love hilary!!

I no what it is now, I just saw an interview where she talked about it. Gypsy woman is a song her and Haylie wrote together, and its about her dad having a relationship with another woman, which broke up a big part of her family. It must of been hard for them =[

and I totally trust her. But r her rents divorced?! I mean, it makes perf sense if they r….cos she wants dem 2 know how MUCH she and her sis hate it, cos haylie helpped rite those songz. I love ya Hil, and
