Hilary Duff
Dignity isn’t for sale. It comes from within. Hilary Duff has always carried herself with dignity, from her 2001 TV debut starring in "Lizzy McGuire," through big screen hits like "Cinderella Story" and "Cheaper by the Dozen," to her career as a multi-platinum recording artist, with more than 13 million albums sold to date. Now Hilary brings her customary class and splash to her new Hollywood Records CD "Dignity."
At 19, Hilary has matured into a sophisticated singer and songwriter. Hilary has co-written all the songs on “Dignity”, always aiming high and ultimately creating an album of depth and consequence. To realize her vision for the new CD, she teamed with Grammy-Award winning Kara Dioguardi ( Gwen Stefani, Pussy Cat Dolls, Enrique Iglesias, Kelly Clarkson), as well as top producer/songwriters like Chico Bennett & Richard Vission (Madonna, Usher, Killers), Tim & Bob (Nas, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez), Vada Nobles (Rhianna, Lauryn Hill, Faith Evans, Natasha Bedingfield, Warren G), Fredwrecke (Snoop Dog, Eminem, Fergi) Will.I.Am and Rhett Lawrence.
In the title track, she talks about her experiences and observations of living in Los Angeles ("Where’s your dignity/I think you lost it in the Hollywood Hills"). "Danger" explores the suspect advances of an older man, while "With Love" turns the world’s most common song topic upside down. ("I can take your honesty/All your words weigh heavily/I’m listening to you all the time"). The song “Stranger” reveals a relationship that is picture perfect in public, but cold behind closed doors. With every track, Hilary probes life and love more intensely, and with more vulnerability than she has before.
A native of Houston, Hilary Duff gained global recognition in 2001 starring in the hit Disney Channel series "Lizzie McGuire. In May 2003, she brought her character to the big screen with Walt Disney Pictures’ "The Lizzie McGuire Movie." She went on to co-star in hit films like "Agent Cody Banks," "Cheaper By the Dozen" and "Cinderella Story," “Raise Your Voice,” “Perfect Man,” and “Material Girls.”
Hilary’s #1 solo debut CD "Metamorphosis sold 4 times platinum, followed by her self –titled album and “Most Wanted” both of which sold 3 million records. Hilary enjoyed Top 40 hits like "So Yesterday," "Come Clean," “Fly,” and “Wake Up.” Hilary’s “Most Wanted” CD was her second # 1 debut and it remained # 1 for 2 weeks. With “Most Wanted” Hilary began to experiment more with her style and music as seen in her videos for “Wake Up” where she donned wigs and different looks and for “Beat of My Heart” in which she exclusively wore high end haute couture and began favoring more dance and rhythmic beats.
Hilary has some exciting movie projects on deck in this year, including "War, Inc." (starring John Cusack, Sir Ben Kingsley and Marisa Tomei) and the animated feature “Foodfight.” Hilary recently debuted her own perfume “With Love”, the video and commercial of which were shot by world-renown Matthew Ralston. But her music – and the upcoming tour – remain front and center these days. And that’s just how she wants it. Hilary Duff always connected closely with her audience. Now, she’s saying more — much more than ever, and with dignity — with her music.

Thanks so much for hooking us up, Arieanna. The “Dignity” webpage is not listed (as yet anyway) on Hilary’s MySpace profile. I checked it, since she happens to be one of my Top Friends, don’t you know.
As for the site features:
* The video — nothing really new here. It’s just the long version of the perfume commercial. Only sight unseen before is the brief appearance of the old doorman, who gets a hat for a tip from Hilary for his bald head. So sweet of her. Since he can’t have her — she’s saving herself of course for the young guy w/fabulous hair — at least he gets the fond, fun gesture. Hil knows the old guys like her, too.
I wish the video had come out first. THEN the commercial. That’s how it usually works. If I had never seen the commercial, I’d be more than likely thrilled w/the vid. But I did. I saw the ad many, many times. Thus, so far for me I prefer the commercial. It’s brilliant & tight.
Maybe it’s also my adult culture ADD. It’s like everything was moving so fast before, now it’s all slowed down. It’s like the DVD w/all the extra bits that were left out of the movie — for a reason. It’s like when all the best parts of the movie are in the trailer.
Easily my favorite part is when Hil changes into the short black dress — She’s got legs! To walk away, w/love. “…Going down?”
* The High Quality Stream of “With Love” — delicious. It’s my MySpace profile song, of course. For Valentines.
* The MySpace Skin — it’s nice but I have to pass as it messes up what I already have on my profile page, which is way too much information. You’re all shocked, I know.
* The Wallpaper — stunning. It looks simply glorious on my desktop.
* The Bio — Hilary better tour behind this album. Her latest singles are her best songs so far, by far. BTW, I must give the edge to, “Play With Fire.”
I have never seen her before. The time is now for far flung friends, for her & I, to finally get together — in the same stadium, at least. “Just slow me down…”

I’m glad you asked.
(Uh oh, look out, it starts again…)
Now I don’t have any inside info, but I do know the one I go to is her official MySpace page. I’m sure an artist as successful as Hilary has someone else running it for her, but I would expect Hilary would check it from time to time.
I mean, I write comments to her there occasionally (although mostly I write them here) & in my dreams she sees them. But she gets like hundreds of Friend Comments a day. The best shot @ getting read might be a Comment in answer to a Blog. Not as many comments there.
Long answer short, Shopgirl♥, I hope Hilary also drops in here as well from time to time. She damn well should, if she knows what’s good for her. & by that I mean no threat @ all, just a promise she’d more than like what she sees of what Arieanna, & her fans like you Shopgirl♥, have done to the place. C’est fantastique. After all, this place is much more up to date on all things Hilary than her MySpace page. In the end this is Hilary’s space, too, & it’s so classy she’d feel so right at home.

I think it’s cool that she gets to travel around the world!! But what I think is even cooler it that my friend’s sister’s boyfriend lives @ HOUSES away from Hilary Duff!! And I live like 20 minutes away!! Incase you were wondering, she lives in Burbank, California, right near Hollywood!!!
