Good Charlotte performance bad review

Good Charlotte got a bad review for their recent performance at the Electric Factory:
Maybe Charlotte should’ve gotten spiffy asymmetrical haircuts sooner. Maybe Joel should dump Hilary Duff. Maybe Philly’s tweens had homework.
In any case, Charlotte was stuck in a plodding groove with a muddy sound. Joel, wearing a skinny tie, said he was sick. And more often than not, their jarring, speediest tracks - "The Anthem," "Walk Away (Maybe)" - couldn’t catch fire. They lumbered, leaving Joel’s nasal whine more phlegmy than punchy.
There were tart melodies, jangling bridges and intricate tales of loss and disgust - like the breakneck ska of "The Story of My Old Man," and the nursery-rhyme bop of "Girls and Boys" - but they were derailed by sloppiness.
Not everything lacked luster. The spry, grungy "Motivation Proclamation" and the punk "Festival Song" were as commanding as their lyrics were demanding. And the band’s new songs "Misery" and "Keep Your Hands Off My Girl" were cunning, neo-disco tracks that were not only reminiscent of Californication-era Red Hot Chili Peppers, but genuinely original takes on Good Charlotte’s brand of heartbeat hard-core.
