Hilary Duff’s sister is going to be in the musical Hairspray on Broadway:
Hairspray will soon be welcoming two new actresses to go and shake their fanny muscles. Haylie Duff, best known for her television and film work, is set to begin performances as the snotty Amber Von Tussle in July. The Tony Award-winning musical has also confirmed that Isabel Keating will be the next Velma Von Tussle.Though younger sister Hilary is the most famous member of the family, Haylie Duff has been acting professionally since the age of twelve, getting her start with a very brief appearance in the 1997 miniseries True Women. Her small screen credits include recurring roles on Boston Public, her sister’s series Lizzie McGuire, Joan of Arcadia and 7th Heaven. She has appeared in the films I Love Your Work and Napoleon Dynamite (in which she played the stuck-up Summer Wheatley, a character much like Amber Von Tussle) among others. She stars with her sister in the summer movie Material Girls. Both Duff sisters are singer/songwriters. Haylie co-wrote two songs for Hilary’s debut album and has dueted with Hilary on recordings and in concert. The pair also notably appeared on an Icebreakers commercial together. Via Broadway
