Joel Madden got a tattoo on the inside of his arm of a cartoon bee in honour of Hilary Duff, whom he calls his ‘little bee’.

Hilary Duff really trusts Joel Madden and I’m proud of her for being trusting - when both do so much and have so much pressure - and for showing her love this way.

The teen singer/actress admits her lover was once tempted by female fans, but she is confident his new sober lifestyle has put an end to his wild behaviour.

She says, "Joel’s so loyal. His dad left his family, and it has made him become the complete opposite.

"Plus, he doesn’t drink anymore. I think there was (a groupie problem) when he was drinking.

"Now he’s clean, so I don’t worry about (his cheating)."

Hilary Duff was interviewed, and was the cover model, for Cosmopolitan. Here is a portion of the interview:

What made you take control of your career?
I’m at that place where you just want to do everything yourself, and you think you know everything. But I still work closely with my mom and my managers. I need support around me. I want to make smart decisions.

You costar with your older sister, Haylie, in Material Girls, and you’ve sung with her in the past. What do you like about working with her?
She’s my best friend, my go-to girl. We are so close and always have been. It’s nice to have her to talk to when I feel like my friends or my boyfriend or my mom don’t understand. [My sister] will tell me the real deal, but she’s always on my side. She helps me when I feel intimidated or upset. She’s got my back.

How are you guys different?
She’s a social butterfly. I’m outgoing when I have to be, but usually, I’m kinda shy. I always think people don’t want to talk to me. Some people might take that as being stuck-up, but I’m just shy.

How did you meet your boyfriend, Joel Madden, of Good Charlotte?
Through a mutual friend at a concert. Joel put me on the spot in front of a bunch of people and asked for my number. I wasn’t going to be rude and say no. Then he took my phone and put his number in it. He called that night, and I was like, "I’m not gonna answer the phone!"
